Oregano

Oregano is native to the Mediterranean region. It is usable for culinary purposes especially in the Mediterranean and Latin America Cuisine. The fittest usage of oregano is, to give flavor to lamb and veal in Turkish cuisine.

The aroma and flavor of the Oregano leaves are far greater when the herb is dried than when the leaves are fresh, which is somewhat unusual for an herb.

When using dried oregano, crush it in the palm of your hand before adding to the food. This helps release the essential oils and revive flavor.
